These make the best biscuits and indian fry bread. Acrtually won a frybread contest years ago using this mis. Shame you can't get them outside WV, or not that I can find. Not cost effective to order them online either. Pity.
I make mine using buttermilk, and they are absolutely the lightest, fluffiest biscuits ever! I also brush them with butter right before removing them from the oven. Definitely my go to for homemade biscuits!
These biscuits taste like Grandma's. Light and fluffy! Make them as drop biscuits and it's even easier!
Light, flavorful, delicious! So close to Moms homemade biscuit, I felt hugged with each bite!
We're WV natives (Beckley and Parkersburg)--due to work we're now living in Illinois. NONE of the national brand biscuit mixes can compare to the Teays Valley mix. Tender, perfect biscuits--every time, and so easy to prepare! Having used the old tried-and-true recipes for biscuits after moving to IL, we were dismayed to find biscuits made with the flour here all come out like hockey pucks--hard, unappetizing, and worse--including those with national brands and at least one sold with a national-brand restaurant's logo on the package (better than the biscuits made from the winter-wheat flour you get in northern USA, but the best you can get from national-brand mixes) do not compare to Teays Valley biscuit mix; they are not even in the ballpark with regard to taste and texture. I'm chucking all the other mixes we've purchased and ordering Teays Valley mix (at much greater expense, due to the weight/shipping costs). But worth it!
